The whole process is truly life changing
I am more patient and open with my family, and I no longer have that victim mentality.
My name is Ryan Fowler, I am a former sheriff deputy and I was a member of the siren project tribe 2. I am an alcoholic and an addict (opiates). I let my addictions take me to a place that ruined my career. When I did get sober I struggled with constant anger, rage issues, depression, and a life long victim mentality. After spending years in the western medicine model of treating addiction and mental health, I started micro dosing psilocybin. This was about one year 1 year before participating in the tribe 2 retreat. It helped with a lot of my symptoms and addiction, but there were so many tools missing, and in my heart I knew there was deeper more meaningful work to be done. Those tools and deeper work are what I got from the prep work before the retreat, the medicine ceremonies themselves, the integration afterwords, and especially from the support network of friends I made during the retreat with other participants.
During the ceremonies that we participated in at tribe 2, I was able to unload enough emotional, and even some physical baggage, and I am no longer struggling with the anger, depression, or rage. I am more patient and open with my family, and I no longer have that victim mentality.
One thing I did not expect or even think about going into the retreat, was my lack of trust in other humans. I did not realize how jaded and cynical my law enforcement career had made me. Because of that mindset, It took me until about halfway through the first ceremony before I finally started to let go and trust that I was in a safe place. Once you can do that and let the medicine in to do its work, all those negative feelings will drain from your heart, and it will start to fill with love, and it feels wild!! The whole process is truly life changing, from the medicine ceremonies themselves, to learning about eating cleaner, living simpler, and practicing gratitude and self love on a daily basis!
